American bluegrass musician and banjo player, Sonny Osborne, died on 24th October 2021 at age 83. He was one half of the Osborne Brothers musical duo, with his brother, Bobby Osborne.

Who was Sonny Osborne?
Sonny Osborne, along with his brother Bobby, was best known for their 1967 hit “Rocky Top.” The Osborne Brothers pioneered a style of singing which had three-harmony melodies.
He started playing the banjo when he was just eleven (11) years old after his father bought him the first Banjo instrument. With the help of a guy called Larry Richardson, he was able to master it. His brother, Bobby was also working on the side, mastering his craft.
His brother, Bobby Osborne is still alive and well. He is 89 years old as of 2021.
